This website looks to be written by humans but has all the characteristics of LLM writing.
The site seeks to answer one question. But the answer to that question isn't even very clear on the page. Theres a ton of space devoted to explanations but only a tiny spot that highlight EST as the answer. And its easy to miss with the color design
I had to stop using these terms as I really meant the time zone and not anything about the daylight savings situation. Someone called me out, asking whether I really meant to get together for an hour in the past of the time I said. I've opted to say ETZ when coordinating a meeting with people in the Eastern timezone (and I don't expect anyone to learn that it is UTC -4 with me).
I’ve taken to using “US/Eastern” or “US/Central” for clarity. The normal folk understand this format perfectly and they are part of the IANA standard time zone list (aliases for America/New_York or America/Chicago). Also avoids confusion when working with folks in Europe for whom EST means UTC+N depending on the country and time of year.
Do you mean ET? Most areas but not all within ET do follow daylight savings. How do you accommodate for the areas within ET(ETZ) zone that do switch between UTC -4 and -5 or EST and EDT) and those that don't?
As a sibling comment mentioned, when available or used(big ifs) calendar software often takes care of this.
Where in ET is DST ignored? Indiana used to be split on the issue, but my understanding is that they now follow DST, leaving only Arizona and Hawaii without regular time changes.
For similar reasons I have used ET for the US Eastern Time Zone for years when scheduling meetings. If you care about the time relative to GMT or other people’s time zone, calendar software takes care of that nicely.

Sounds like an opportunity for a startup!
You do realize single purpose websites have existed for over 20 years, yes?
isitchristmas.com? something.com?
Yes, totally. But usually the answer is Yes or No. Not pages on pages of explanation of the question with just a tiny unclear section with the answer
