    > If software students also take the time to master agentic development, the career opportunities opening up in large-scale orchestration of enterprise software creation will soon be immense, and carry the same high-salary dreams traditional software carried prior to a few months ago.

This is just based on nothing and is potentially really bad advice for young people.

As a 12-year, current architect, I can say that statement is accurate for the next 5 years. All of the good money will be in agent orchestration soon, and already is, for the big earners.

Don't get me wrong, I think we still need seniors who have engineering experience pre-AI and those with domain expertise. But the topic was entry level workers.

That's fair man. I should have been clearer in the writing. It's definitely not a replacement for that introductory knowledge, just something that we are pretty much training all of our new hires on big time, from the start. Would be a big gain to gather a strong understanding of it throughout one's education.

CEOs only have a few plays in their playbook to get wallstreet to notice them. Trimming the workforce looks like efficiency and they get a boost in the shareprice in the short term.
