I know a lot of people, myself included, said that genetically engineered catgirls were the goalpost to AGI or even consciousness. Unfortunately, that doesn't seem to be on the table, so our goalposts aren't going anywhere.
I've read and watched enough sci-fi to know that that's how you create evil AGI clones (probably wearing virtual mustaches) when a burst of alpha particles flips the wrong weights during the copy.
The job postings say “Pay Transparency Compensation includes base salary and equity. The salary range for this role is shown on this posting.”
But in fact no salary range was provided for any job I looked at.

Once we have AGI/Consciousness wouldn't it make more sense to clone/duplicate vs raising a new one?

Or we can finally decouple intelligence/ability and from (social) worth
