    > What's left is finding out what people actually want, and only they know

I split work into two types: chores and magic.

Chores are the tasks that are known. There is never risk to doing a chore, because the inputs, required outcome, and effort is generally known. People will pay you to do chores, but you are ultimately competing on price. People want chores done quickly and cheaply.

Magic is finding the thing that your clients didn't know was possible. People can rarely articulate exactly what the magic output should be, even if they try. You have to learn about the problem tree, and find where unrealized opportunities that you can turn into magic outcomes.

I think, increasingly, AI will do chores for all of us.

It's the magic that remains for humans to discover.

If you don’t do chores are you able to perform magic? It’s an important question…
