yeah to some extent it's like a better interface over all those no-code site and app builders. people used them but they were still a lot of work, being able to just describe what you want is better ux for those users.
i wasnt around for that period where nocode was super hype, was there the same general attitude that it was inevitably going to replace developers?

i haven't thought of vibeslop as being the next wordpress, but i think it's kinda apt especially since the vibe approach only really works for websites.
I disagree. I’m currently working on a full native multi-threaded desktop app for video, with GPU video processing in frag shaders, hardware accelerated encoding, audio mixing, etc. I’ve been vibing it for a couple months after mocking up the core architecture prior to AI.
Clearly you should be able to come up with a better process than requesting free labor for an unspecified amount of time all for a job in the 75-150k range.
Glad to be doing my own thing for now and not have to deal with job search. Though who knows if the profession will even be around if I need to find a job.

But, just because you can see slop does not mean all vibe coding is slop.

I get it’s hard to find signal when it comes to hiring, but feels bleak.
