We should probably go the other way and make ISPs, and DNS and VPN providers common carriers.

People spending nothing funds terrorism
Last week they shut down a free email host of 25 years by saying it supported terrorist groups and therefore it was illegal for them to use banks.
"Think about the children" used to be their free pass until it no longer fit American values
Their take is so dumb, and what about the legal businesses that fund terrorism at scale? Let's ban restaurants?
And no, money from legal incomes is not "more traceable" once it's made into cash and sent away the exact same way as illicit funds. All BS.
I bet that the idea behind this is that they can block Chinese AI providers by claiming that they stole knowledge from US AI companies.
This worked out so well in Spain that the ISPs are suing the government for it.
So they want bigger government with more regulation?
They tired this in the UK. I can get to a mirror of any pirate site without issue without a VPN. It ends up being a game of whackamole.
