    Effectively the same thing that happened to the US: a coordinated right-wing project executed over the past fifty years or so, enabled by a society that looked at the aftermath of World War II and concluded that leftist politics are dangerous.

    Capital cannot achieve absolute domination if egalitarian projects like universities persist.

    I'm from China.

    The US has great universities. Stanford, Harvard, MIT, Caltech, Yale, Princeton, Berkley...

    But they elected a President that decided to defund them and slash research grants. I guess this is how they want to compete.

    Trump is overwhelming popular with southerners. These people just don't value science. They prefer religion.
