Yes, but not in the way of asking the question like that and getting the answer (which I am not sure will always work (e.g. the question might not be understood, or the context might be different due to a different purpose) nor would always be desirable). A different method should be used to discover such a thing as that, rather than being a part of the conversation.

(Either way, I do not expect it to help much against scammers, who might do something else which is able to avoid such a thing. And, as another comment mentions, it is mostly unenforceable, and makes other suggestions of what might help, but that comment is now flagged and dead as this is written.)

(I also think that you should avoid excessive use of AI and LLM, although that is a different issue and such a suggestion won't mean that no scammers could ever use it.)

Should AI's tell you they're AI?

Yes. I would add they should have a mandatory "report" function. "Report this scammer" should trigger a review of all recent interactions the user has performed and if it looks like they are abusing the system to scam people it must escalate to a human operator at the LLM and they must click a button the bundles the interactions and uploads everything required by the national authorities of the given country and also lowers the karma of said country. If the country loses too much karma they lose access to the LLM meaning they lose revenue and businesses are impacted if they ignore their own scammers.

Yes definitely, I don't even see a single positive reason why they should be allowed to lie. Ive seen a lot of scams lately with AI's being used myself and it's scary how real they sound in tone etc. So a big YES from me

Because scammers are so good at following regulations already?
