One thing Italy should do is plant more trees in cities.
Italian canopy cover in its cities lags behind other European cities.
Small towns and villages have more of those, which might be why they are only putting "major" citiies on red alert.
Heat will force cities to do much more than grow more tree canopy…
not exactly news, many other countries have high heat alert across whole area
for instance most of the Slovakia has highest 3rd level alert, lower 2nd level is only in mountains
