99.99999999999999% of all people take a job for the money. Sure, they may choose job A over job B because of some mission or overall objective, but if job B proposed a 50% higher salary, most people would take it.

Sorry not sorry. I work for money.

Depends on the sector. Lots of sectors are full of people for whom the mission is part of the comp. EdTech is one for sure.

I would imagine not too many folks work in AdTech to support the mission.

I work in EdTech - that's definitely part of it. It feels nice knowing that I'm positively contributing to something that was a net-good, especially with the specific project I spent something like five years working on.

Sure, it's not perfect - we live in a world run under a capitalist system - but it felt like a least-bad situation.

That's what happens when you inject a lot of money into a sector/company, it attracts people who only want to maximize money. This is honestly what has ruined the tech sector over the past 30 years.

The only thing that matters is a) family, b) community, c) country. Your job is very low on the list, but the money it provides makes the 3 above better.

Worse. People join AI companies for quick money.

Anyone who joins Anthropic at the 800 valuation is probably less about money.

If it is about money, they would try to buy low, not buy high like this.

    Is this accusation a confession?

Did he not notice that every CV listed the previous "mission" as reimagining money with shitcoins and NFTs?

If during the interview they said that their biggest weakness was that "they are a perfectionist" they are doing it for the money.

Worried? What the heck else people are working for if not money? Is he really that clueless?
