Ava, a real-time captioning platform for one-on-one and group conversations, online and in person. 11+ years, zero to product. I co-founded it and was CTO, but the backend was mine throughout, first building it and later as Backend Lead. What that covered: the live captioning pipeline, where latency, accuracy, and reliability all had to hold at once. Drove the backend from a monolith into a monolith plus microservices plus serverless, over an event-driven layer, to keep service stable. An observability stack with Prometheus and Grafana, built from scratch. A datastore migration across 100K+ accounts with no downtime, running both databases live instead of taking a batch window. The subscription and enterprise licensing backend behind customers like Disney and Nike. Penetration test remediation three years running across four teams. On call for all of it. None of this was a fresh start. Everything was already running, with real users on it, and it had to keep running while I changed it.
How I work: most of what I've built started as a vague idea, and my job was making it specific enough for other teams to build against. I own my scope end to end, and once people start building, the spec always changes. That back-and-forth is where the design actually gets figured out.
Two projects I'm working on now:
Clearway: audits websites for accessibility and drafts the compliance report a specialist would write by hand. False alarms 43% to 23%, real issues caught 74% to 83%. My first AI reviewer scored well on my own gold set and near zero on the external W3C one, because it shared a rubric with the drafter. Adding a county is a config file, not code. The other 155 are labeled planned rather than filled with invented numbers.
FindStorage (https://findstorage.pages.dev) — national self-storage pricing tracker. 4,639 locations, 245,000+ price changes logged, running unattended on a daily schedule. Aborts rather than publishing when the store count moves more than it should, because the failure that costs you isn't a crash — it's a scraper quietly returning less after a site changes and nobody noticing for three weeks.
Also built a WiFi CSI device-fingerprinting array on ESP32 — custom ESP-IDF firmware and a Python DSP pipeline, running as my apartment's security system. Cross-manufacturer separation holds at 11-15 sigma; same-model discrimination tops out near 77% and true clock twins are the open problem.
Before this I ran a 500-acre motocross park in Northern California: acquired dormant land, re-entitled it, directed a 120-person race-day crew, ran the medical plan through a mid-event helicopter evacuation, and sold my stake.

Releases the CPython GIL during numerical computations using Numba JIT compilation (nogil=True) and an Actor Model architecture over daemon threads to isolate DB I/O and API calls. Built thread-safe O(1) queues and fixed-size circular memory buffers to eliminate allocation overhead under 24/7 continuous operation.
• HydraPrime (https://github.com/sriramvarun0636/HydraPrime): Systematic XAUUSD strategy in MQL5 (C++ derivative), developed and iterated solo over two years — OTE/Fair-Value-Gap structural entries with ATR-adaptive sizing and multi-layered drawdown circuit breakers. Backtested across 96M+ real ticks over a single two-year window (2024–2026) that included a strong gold bull run: 1.37 profit factor, 13.8% max drawdown, 252% net return. Not yet forward-tested live, so I hold that return number loosely until it survives a different regime.

I build LLM systems that run in production. The clearest example is live: pick a sector at https://demo.consentleads.uk and message it the way a customer would. Nothing is scripted. It runs on a free-tier ARM box behind a Cloudflare tunnel, is multi-tenant and has users, and nine scheduled jobs keep it going unattended.
If opt-out detection misses a phrase, the system keeps emailing someone who asked it to stop, and nothing crashes or alerts. So the suppression gate fails closed, and the eval fixtures cover that path and reply triage.
I also wrote claimcheck (MIT, https://github.com/visione4906/ctaio-claimcheck): give it a document and a codebase and a second agent has to prove every claim against the source with file and line citations, or the build fails. I built it after an outside review of my own writing turned up claims the code did not support.

24 years in infrastructure, currently Lead Platform Engineer at a security AI startup where I built the platform team from scratch (0 to 5 engineers) and architected multi-tenant Kubernetes infrastructure across 40+ clusters with per-tenant KMS encryption and Argo-based progressive delivery.

Ava, a real-time captioning platform for one-on-one and group conversations, online and in person. 11+ years, zero to product. I co-founded it and was CTO, but the backend was mine throughout, first building it and later as Backend Lead. What that covered: the live captioning pipeline, where latency, accuracy, and reliability all had to hold at once. Drove the backend from a monolith into a monolith plus microservices plus serverless, over an event-driven layer, to keep service stable. An observability stack with Prometheus and Grafana, built from scratch. A datastore migration across 100K+ accounts with no downtime, running both databases live instead of taking a batch window. The subscription and enterprise licensing backend behind customers like Disney and Nike. Penetration test remediation three years running across four teams. On call for all of it. None of this was a fresh start. Everything was already running, with real users on it, and it had to keep running while I changed it.
How I work: most of what I've built started as a vague idea, and my job was making it specific enough for other teams to build against. I own my scope end to end, and once people start building, the spec always changes. That back-and-forth is where the design actually gets figured out.
Two projects I'm working on now:
Clearway: audits websites for accessibility and drafts the compliance report a specialist would write by hand. False alarms 43% to 23%, real issues caught 74% to 83%. My first AI reviewer scored well on my own gold set and near zero on the external W3C one, because it shared a rubric with the drafter. A second reviewer reading independently now catches 53% of those errors. Small-sample measurements, not proof.
VOX Personalis: fine-tuned Whisper with LoRA on my own Deaf-accented speech, because no off-the-shelf ASR handles it. WER 238.69% to 34.05%, now with sub-second streaming output. Next is sub-20% and on-device.
Communication style: I'm Deaf and work best with text-first collaboration, clear written specs, async updates, and captions/transcripts for meetings. This is how I've worked for 11 years, including with enterprise customers.

Four counties live, each a different ingestion problem resolved into one schema: a 9,915-page fixed-width mainframe PDF (409,142 records, zero dropped rows), a weekly XLSX roll, monthly text PDFs, and scanned sheriff's levy documents via OCR. Adding a county is a config file, not code. The other 155 are labeled planned rather than filled with invented numbers.
FindStorage (https://findstorage.pages.dev) — national self-storage pricing tracker. 4,639 locations, 245,000+ price changes logged, running unattended on a daily schedule. Aborts rather than publishing when the store count moves more than it should, because the failure that costs you isn't a crash — it's a scraper quietly returning less after a site changes and nobody noticing for three weeks.
Also built a WiFi CSI device-fingerprinting array on ESP32 — custom ESP-IDF firmware and a Python DSP pipeline, running as my apartment's security system. Cross-manufacturer separation holds at 11-15 sigma; same-model discrimination tops out near 77% and true clock twins are the open problem.
Before this I ran a 500-acre motocross park in Northern California: acquired dormant land, re-entitled it, directed a 120-person race-day crew, ran the medical plan through a mid-event helicopter evacuation, and sold my stake.

• AutoPatch-AI (https://github.com/sriramvarun0636/AutoPatch-AI): Autonomous, self-healing code remediation agent built on a LangGraph state machine. Engineered a zero-trust Docker execution layer (network_disabled=True, 256 MB RAM / 128 PID cgroup hard limits), streamed real-time telemetry over thread-safe queues via SSE, and built an AST-based line-level parser (cutting context/generation bloat by ~80%). Achieved a 100% resolution rate (5/5) on a custom Micro-SWE-bench harness with an average time-to-resolution of ~205 seconds.
• SentinelPrime (https://github.com/sriramvarun0636/SentinelPrime): Multi-threaded, regime-aware options trading system for live WebSocket market data. Releases the CPython GIL during numerical computations using Numba JIT compilation (nogil=True) and an Actor Model architecture over daemon threads to isolate DB I/O and API calls. Built thread-safe O(1) queues and fixed-size circular memory buffers to eliminate allocation overhead under 24/7 continuous operation.
• HydraPrime (https://github.com/sriramvarun0636/HydraPrime): Systematic XAUUSD strategy in MQL5 (C++ derivative), developed and iterated solo over two years — OTE/Fair-Value-Gap structural entries with ATR-adaptive sizing and multi-layered drawdown circuit breakers. Backtested across 96M+ real ticks over a single two-year window (2024–2026) that included a strong gold bull run: 1.37 profit factor, 13.8% max drawdown, 252% net return. Not yet forward-tested live, so I hold that return number loosely until it survives a different regime.
What I'm looking for: Backend/infra/agent-systems roles at early-stage teams, pre-seed to Series A — founding engineer or engineer #2–5, wherever you're at. Standard interview loops work fine too, not just trial sprints.

I am a software developer and researcher with half a decade of experience and a Master's degree in mathematics. I have ample experience with Golang in a professional context often on backend services like REST APIs and programs interacting with databases and message queues, am fairly proficient with a variety of other languages and technologies, and am comfortable working on a variety of domains, from accounting/financial management/CRM software, to IaaS products, to scientific and mathematical software and language apps. I enjoy learning, and am always open to learning new things, especially if they happen to ignite my curiosity.
I like free or open-source software, systems programming, web services and the infrastructure required to run them at scale and would love an opportunity to continue to contribute to and learn about them. I enjoy mathematics and quantitative research like biology, engineering and physics. I enjoy writing, and in particular writing documentation for software, educational content, and research.
