Last year I migrated all my Firefox bookmarks (~ 1000 total) into Karakeep using their API and then deleted every bookmark except the top 10 sites that I visit most regularly. I didn't realize just how awful the discoverability of old bookmarks was until I started using karakeep to search for items.
Their API is easy to use and I have a rofi script that I use to quickly open up saved pages in my browser with about 4 keystrokes.
Karakeep has to be one of my favorite regular uses of local AI. Sometimes it really is just the small, background, private things like bookmarks rather than something trying to poorly replace a frontier model.
Its right up there for me with immich's local semantic searching of images.
