most data is neither useful nor valuable. it can be used for financial gains from finding trends or whatever, sure.
whereas most land and the natural resources it offers is tangibly valuable.
if you lose data you can continue from a new game or last available save tomorrow.
if you lose land and the ability to farm or drink water that’s like no longer having a computer to even open the game.
