I do not have anything against NextBSD - but that 'macOS userland tools on FreeBSD kernel' term sounds as stupid as it can - knowing that Apple pulled FreeBSD userland as part of creating Mac OS X :D

Which generally means: 'FreeBSD userland tools on FreeBSD kernel' ...

    Interesting project.

In many ways it is valuable to have experimental versions of FreeBSD where developers and users can explore radical evolutions of the OS (future init, service management, security, etc.). To then ease the porting to FreeBSD

I believe this is what HardenBSD do too.

The original NextBSD project was founded by Jordan Hubbard... Who also cofounded FreeBSD itself, and then years later, worked at Apple on OS X modernising its BSD base. So he should know.
