What I am seeing in the wiki page (at least from the radio example) is that women make the world better by not wanting random components and dangerous things strewn around the house. I like that most people are heterosexual and that there is indeed some amount of sexual dimorphism in general interests between men and women! It seems like it results in a balance that makes things better than they would be otherwise if only one of the two sexes had absolute control.

My favorite story is the 4-dr Jeep

Chrysler basically realized that their median customer was married and asked "what are all the reasons people don't let their spouse buy the 2dr Wrangler?" and developed minimum viable solutions.

Don't like convertible -> let me show you the factory hard top, we've got them in every color.

Need to haul kids -> 2nd row has doors now

Just want the look -> super cheap 2wd base model

Want stupid proof AWD instead of 4wd -> that's an option too

And on and on and on. They basically ran down the list of everything that could get a purchase veto'd by someone's significant other and solved it, even if in a poorly done on paper only sort of way.

And in doing so they took at niche vehicle, that sold ok but not great into something that could in theory be bought by anyone looking for a 4dr SUV. Sales approximately doubled(!) as a result.

Cirrus salesmen often reference this when talking about the built-in parachute system in the SR20/22. They credit it for the reason that SR22 outsold the cessna TTx by far.

Cirrus was bought by China in 2011. Around 2022 I knew the US head manufacturing engineer as they were based near our R&D facility in China. They fired the US team after that.

And this is why the most powerful consumer computing hardware in the world is made by a lifestyle brand (Apple). My wife about lost it when she saw the MacBook Neo in citrus, in person.

My wife's friend, when asked why she wanted an iPhone (my wife and I see the prospect of switching from Android a downgrade), she excitedly opens up the camera app (we were in a store), takes a picture, and then screams "Did you see this? THIS!" (and points at the captured picture bouncing animation)... "I just love this (makes the quick palm closing/dragging down gesture in the air). That's all the reason I need to buy one..." And then she did.

I prefer his comment to yours, does that mean new accounts should be weighted higher for me and lower for you?

"Happy wife, happy life" is the little death that brings total obliteration.
