I wonder if the Anthropic can sue for financial damage when they inevitably win the SCR case (if Hegseth actually bothers to file it.)

There are probably multiple lawsuits Anthropic can file:

    1. Blatantly illegal SCR designation as a punitive measure

    2. Terminating a contract and offering one with similar terms to a competitor as a punitive measure

    3. General defamation

Still very scummy for OAI to swoop in like this.

    Also:

    > its A.I. systems “shall not be intentionally used for domestic surveillance of U.S. persons and nationals” in line with relevant federal laws, which it named in the contract.

"in line with relevant federal laws" seems like a weasel phrase.

I think they know better than pick a fight with this administration.

Of course, they'd do this during the next administration I suppose.

The are no consequences fighting with Democrats, however Republicans are petty and vindictive, and they now know how to weaponize all parts of the government. Also, having zero shame is a huge force multiplier.
