    > [Zuck] emphasized that such systems should require the person’s consent, saying it “should ultimately be your call.”

I'd find it morbidly hilarious (I'd be outraged too, but the lack of tact and the ensuing outrage would be hilarious) if it's enabled by default and users have to opt-out.

Using the simulation of dead people for content engagement in the attention-economy and Zuck-enrichment... If anyone is capable of that, it'd be him.

Finally we can all have parasocial relationships with homunculi created from the superficial memories of our deceased crushes.

This is exactly the kind of AI innovation I d expect from Meta.

Profiting of teenage girl insecurities was just not doing it anymore.

Leave it to Zuck to not only pursue this morbid idea, but to add a dollop of poo on top with a patent. Bravo!

I guess when your user base is dying it makes sense to resort to necromancy.

Why are companies hell bent on manifesting literally every episode of Black Mirror?

Same reason they do anything - we want it. The customers are the mirror.

        Nobody wants this

Are they building it for fun?

So now the Are You Dead app [1] can just reply "yes I am, how are you?".

this reads like an attempt to patent indivual style and then weaponise that to prosecute anyone with a "similar" style for infingment
