This is just the beginning. Expect FSD to eventually go fully Per Mile pricing.

This solves Level 4, which is really a liability problem. With per mile pricing, companies can simply bake their self-insurance into the price, so safer systems have lower prices.

ELI5 - I thought that Teslas weren't actually self-driving? I keep hearing that the FSD has all sorts of problems and get into accidents all the time.

Missed the 2nd line: "FSD will only be available as a monthly subscription thereafter."

I'm confused. People bought it on the promise it would work, one day. That hasn't happened, but they got the sale.

Who would rent something that doesn't work? Surely you would just wait until it does work, and rent it then?

Got to have something to talk about other than sales are down.
