    I think the future of videos as a source of truth is bleak.

    You can't trust anything that you can see in a video. And you can deny any video.

    I think this will make an interesting post-truth world. What will happen when we can't almost prove anything. Eye witnesses are untrust worthy. Videos ditto. Cryptographic proof? Will politician sign their videos and messages with their public keys?

      Images could be doctored convincingly at least since the 1920s and yet people used "pics or it didn't happen" unironically nearly 100 years later. Video will not be different. People believe what they want to believe and will never let get truth in their way.

      Let's also do biometric based cryptography so that just having the key or looking like them isn't enough.

    It should be a registerable offense to create deepfake sexual content of someone without their consent.
