There’s a part of San Francisco where almost 30 streets are named after US States. I was curious about this, and ended up downloading 10GB of OpenStreetMaps data to explore. There are about 47,000 streets with state names. “Washington”, with its presidential crossover, is understandably the most common name to appear in a street name (over 9000 occurrences). Like there are 94 streets named North Dekota, but none of them are actually in ND (lots of numbers instead). Meanwhile 39% of streets with “Wisconsin” in the name are located in Wisconsin. I think a fun little glimpse into weird geography. The article includes some visualizations and notes on implementation.

Perhaps the high excessive drinking rate in WI means more residents need to be reminded in which State they actually are, other than the State of Inebriation.
