    Hopefully this discovery leads to a safer acetaminophen alternative. Overdoses, both accidental and intentional, are relatively common (~80k ER visits in the US annually).

      One just got approved in January 2025, called suzetrigine or Journavx.

      My doc doesn’t want me to take it because it raises my liver enzymes.

        It has plenty of interactions and limitations. I've heard doctors complain that is available OTC. A friend of mine managed to turn back pain into acute liver failure in a matter of weeks. Discovery of a safer alternative would be a big deal!
