If you're unfamiliar with Gary's design documentary series, do yourself a favor and buy all of them for a marathon watch. Rams' is one of the best because Dieter is so smart/charming.

Had the chance to see the premiere of Gary's doc Urbanized in Detroit a decade or so ago and ask him a question about the music he uses (from the band El Ten Eleven). Really nice guy who deeply cares about his craft.

I was introduced to this documentary through the YouTube clip "Dieter Rams pointing at things he doesn't like" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ypyAg3Zbs_8

For fans of Severance, Dieter Rams was likely part of the inspiration for the naming of Dieter Eagan, and several of his industrial designs were featured: https://news.artnet.com/art-world/severance-dieter-rams-brau...

And the show does feature rams. As in male sheep.

This documentary is one of my favorites. I’ve probably watched a dozen times over the years. Seeing the Braun designs of yesteryear and hearing Mr. Rams philosophy on design is inspiring and refreshing each time I watch.

I purchased it a while ago and I've watched it twice. It's well made and worth the price.

I know it says "Stream + download anytime", but since stores frequently say "Buy" when they mean "Rent", I feel like I have to ask to clarify... Does the download mean that you get an actual video file downloaded to your computer that you can watch offline? Or is there some Vimeo app that you can only temporarily cache the video in or similar stupid setup?

Edit: Thank you everyone for the replies, great to hear it's a proper DRM-free download. Good job Vimeo and producers :)

Back in 2018 when this dropped (I backed the kickstarter) I got a code and used it to download an mp4 from vimeo.

~6 years ago, I didn't purchase through Vimeo or AppleTV and now I don't see the page where I bought it, but I was able to download an mp4 to keep.

          Yep it's a full DRM-free download.

The documentary omitted many import details from his life. For example, it did not mention that Random Access Memory was named after him.

The documentary omitted many import details from his life. For example, it did not mention that the American football team in Los Angeles was named after him.

As someone who read quite a bit about Rams and what he has done, what football teams are named after him or not would probably go pretty far down on the list of stuff I'd like to know.

If anything, this makes the documentary sound even better in my head, as then they haven't wasted run time on useless details that aren't about his philosophy of design or him as a person.

You may want to look up the words "rams" (plural of "ram") and "humor" in an english dictionary.

I did, and still didn't understand what you were trying to say...

For others who also don't have any idea of American sports, apparently there is a American Football team called "Rams" :|
