I am a Full Stack Developer with a Front End Focus of over 15 years of experience with Leadership abilities. I started designing and developing websites way back in 1997 on a Sega Saturn Netlink. Without a keyboard in hand, I hand-wrote my table based HTML markup in old notebooks to transcribe into CGI web editors utilizing an on-screen keyboard and controller, and of course, all while collaborating over IRC.
I have since worked on countless projects from interesting startups in various spaces, to enterprise level applications, government funded incentivized data applications, as well as multiple personal and collaborative projects. You have most likely seen some of my work on the market for large brand name designs, applications, and products.
I've been in startups for decades and I'm looking for my next thing. You might know me from founding Salesloft, being MD at Techstars Atlanta, or my open source work on React Router, Redux, and the Tesla API. I'm hoping to join something where I can get back to building and making a big impact.

Technical leader with over a decade of experience in building and scaling applications to millions of users, including two venture-backed companies. Deep expertise in cross-platform design and development, combined with strong product sense and data-driven decision making. Looking for opportunities where I can apply both technical and product experience.
I'm a software engineer who specializes in turning internal knowledge into well-documented, external-facing APIs. I’ve worked with teams at the NBA, Kiwi.com, and Redfolder Research to help them expose structured data from sources like Airtable, spreadsheets, PDFs, and Jira — with minimal lift on their side.
I’m open to freelance, contract, or full-time roles where I can lead API design and delivery, particularly in media, publishing, or research-focused teams.
- Production-ready APIs from messy data
- Fixed-scope freelance projects or long-term roles
- Async-native, autonomous, results-focused (can run self-managed)
- Worked in stacks based on [Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Golang] but I'm flexible on technology choices
– Led 25 engineering teams (7 direct reports) at a leading private bank; rebuilt the B2B lending stack into a modular platform, cutting delivery time by 50 %.
– Introduced engineering standards, quality metrics, career levels, and a structured hiring + ramp‑up pipeline; team size +25 % YoY with < 5 % attrition.
– Launched an internal Java academy that retrained PEGA devs into productive backend engineers.
– Conducted technical due‑diligence for a $2 M acquisition.
– Rolled out AI‑assisted code‑review tooling, raising team throughput by 15 %.
Looking for Staff/Principal/Head‑of‑Engineering roles in mid‑stage startups where clear architecture and fast execution matter.
Compensation: aiming for US‑market leadership packages (base + equity); open to discussion.
Hi! Around 15 in IT industry, focusing on backend development, infrastructure and data pipelines. Have unique experience in building Nix-based mono-repositories and running production systems based on NixOS. Extensive experience in using Kubernetes for services and job scheduling, auto-scaled node-pools, and distributed data processing. 6 years university education in discrete math and databases. Fond of functional programming (F#, Rust, Haskell), but not holistic about it.
Looking for mostly for remote work, but could consider relocation.
Like this Ask HN: Recommend employers with positive social impact [https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=31518945], I am looking for similar work, but I am open to work on any interesting project. I am a European software developer who has lived and worked on four continents. Now it's time to move on and so I am in the process to relocate to Africa.
I have more than a decade of experience running a company, doing software development, support and training and mentoring adults and students, as well as working on educational projects, and I am willing to take on a mixture of roles as needed to support a project.
I value good teamwork over fancy tech, and I don't shy away from working on legacy code. I am primarily motivated by solving problems, so let me help you solve your problems.
I am open to work for a company anywhere as long as the work can be done fully remote from Africa.
While I could find a job elsewhere I believe that the experience living in an area where my work is going to have an impact gives me a better understanding of the needs of the location I am serving. Whether it is through direct contact with clients and users or just by being part of a local community and learning about the reality of living there.
In addition, I want to use some of my income to hire local interns and junior developers and train them in order to pass on my experience. I also sponsor children that otherwise can't afford to go to school (see my website). If you want to support this, I would love to work with you. Also if you are interested in hiring African developers yourself. I can help you build up a team for you.

Sure, I want to be , to work on cool things, but i think I should keep working on my startup. And 0 companies interested in IP carveout to protect my corporation's IP. https://github.com/o0101
My core focus is solving real business problems QUICKLY and AFFORDABLY in a way that's easy to enhance and extend. Whether you need to streamline operations, replace outdated systems, or build something new, I deliver practical solutions quickly without cutting corners.
About Me
I've been building software systems professionally since the mid-90s, working across industries like finance, payments, scientific research, mil-spec, and telecoms. For most of the past 25 years, I focused on embedded systems, though I still take on the occasional eBPF or IoT project for select clients. These days, I prefer developing Line-of-Business (LoB) applications for SMEs; the faster turnaround and immediate impact make it especially rewarding.
What I Deliver
I specialize in building Line-of-Business web-applications tailored to SMEs, using a lean proprietary low-code technology stack.
For most projects, I deliver functional, reliable apps in 4-6 weeks; a typical project costs around $5000 USD as a one-time fee. I also accommodate clients who prefer a monthly subscription model (yes, SaaS habits are hard to break).
What makes me faster and more cost-effective? I've developed a proprietary framework that accelerates development while allowing rapid, low-code-style enhancements. Clients receive full source code with a non-redistribution license, ensuring they can extend or maintain their solution without being locked into ongoing contracts.
If you need a Line-of-Business app done fast and affordably, without sacrificing quality, I'll quickly give you a very good idea of cost for your intended scope.

Hi, Kilian here :) ML engineer / research-minded generalist with a recent M.Sc. in Informatics from TUM, including a thesis on machine unlearning in medical imaging (@Harvard Medical School). I’ve worked on problems like reinforcement learning for tumor landmark detection in MRI, and deep learning for physical systems and protein structure prediction.
I'll implement papers, fine-tune models, and explore new ideas end-to-end — from prototyping to testing. I enjoy experimenting with architectures, digging into optimization quirks, and working where research meets engineering. I’ve mainly worked in academic and project-based settings, but I take code quality and reproducibility seriously.
In team settings, I tend to gravitate toward coordination and planning roles, and outside of work, I’ve led a 300+ member volleyball department for several years — which taught me how to manage people, not just models.
I'm looking for roles at the intersection of research and engineering, eg early-stage AI projects where curiosity, ownership, technical depth matter and impact-driven development are valued.

Senior leader, staff-level generalist, ~10YoE, between startups, scaleups, and big tech. I build with a strong sense of ownership, product and business value, not just code. I seek out collaboration with non-engineering teams to understand the broader context, and I’m not fazed by legacy systems. I'll make them work, make them fast, and make them stable without defaulting to rewrites. Over the years, I’ve worked at companies of various sizes and stages, learning what scales and when to apply the right tools and patterns. I'm someone who can move an MVP from early traction to real scale, untangle and upgrade your legacy codebase, or help a team grow through better processes and technical guidance, without needing detailed instructions to get started. I am a seasoned C++ developer with 23 years of experience in the industry. I have experience in Desktop, Embedded and Mobile development. I also did some back-end work and even some reverse engineering, though that was a while ago. I also have some ML experience (PyTorch) - also a while ago, but not that much. Most recently I've doing 3D graphics (simulation and later maps). My Linear Algebra is quite decent - I use it regularly.
My preferred next career move is independent contracting. 6-12 months contracts ideally. I will also consider permanent fully remote positions, but only quite senior ones - Staff Engineer / Architect level.
I've been fully remote since 2018 and I intend to keep it that way.
9+ years of product development experience, primarily focused on backend engineering and platform development.
Core expertise in:
- Building and scaling microservices architectures using Go
- Kubernetes (CKA and CKAD certified) and cloud infrastructure
- System design and architecture
- DevOps and CI/CD pipeline development
I'm particularly interested in backend roles where I can leverage my experience in Go, Kubernetes, and distributed systems. While I'm comfortable with DevOps, I prefer focusing on core product development.
I bring strong experience in both startup and enterprise environments, with a focus on delivering quality, maintainable solutions.
Looking for full-time/part-time remote positions with teams that value technical excellence and sustainable development practices.
Security-focused backend/devops engineer with experience in regulated industries. Served as CISO for two startups that were acquired (IBM + Dataminr buyers). Built secure infrastructure, compliance automation, and ISMS/BCP systems that helped land enterprise clients including BCG, Palo Alto Networks. I speak both code and risk, and I thrive where technical architecture meets business requirements.
Looking for high-leverage contract work, virtual or fractional CISO roles, or backend-heavy infrastructure projects in industries where trust and uptime matter.

Software Engineer with 8yoe. Most of my career I've led research and startup-like commercial projects for companies wanting to modernize their processes, using whichever technology I felt was adequate. Some examples are: deployment of multiple applications on EC2 instances and on Kubernetes (with EKS, Helm Charts, ArgoCD, Istio), telemetrics pipeline and dashboards with AWS (S3, Lambda, Glue, Athena, Grafana) to track millions of daily messages from a fleet of vehicles, firmware for two 1M€ industrial EVs, a plugin for Cura 3D printing software, knitting machine defect detection with computer vision, redid my employer's website from scratch, telemetry of a global fleet of threading machines, a cloud connected tractor using satellite data for fertilization, firmware of a machine that manufactures medical plastic parts with ultrasounds... I've also recently won the Swisshacks hackathon with an AI RAG tool for financial analysts.
I a broadly skilled generalist senior developer - specialised roles I did in the past included data engineering / MLOps for a healthcare AI start-up and bioinformatics ops and research.
Bio summary: After a graduating with a maths degree in 2014 and an early career role in finance, I found my path to data engineering in bioinformatics in 2016, initially as a full stack developer in a research institute and then taking on increasingly data focused work. I worked in life sciences for many years, until in 2023 I joined a healthcare startup, which for an exciting year and a half was a great opportunity to experiment with 'modern practice' like Databricks and integrating LLMs. Looking for new opportunities to engage in meaningful work.
From my bioinformatics and data engineer experience, I'm good at interfacing with researchers and turning ideas and prototypes into working products: developing data flow workflows, evaluating performance of models, providing interfaces and entry points for clients, and more.
Throughout my career, I've had the privilege of contributing to significant projects in academic, commercial, and non-profit settings. If my profile or any of the technologies listed resonate with you, feel free to reach out via email!

I'm basically a jack of all trades with deep system and product design experience, who knows the web ecosystem and graphics programming pretty well, and can use LLMs for software development expertly (see my twitter for how I'm thinking in this space). I spent the early part of my career at early stage startups and have spent the past 8 years or so doing mostly greenfield projects on a contract basis. I've done a lot in the dev tools space, and with graphically intensive web applications (e.g. domain-specific CAD tools).
I'm working on some LLM infrastructure tooling that I designed and have partly built that I plan to commercialize so I'm looking for something pretty part time. I think I could be very useful on the right project, but I also have a lot of constraints on what I'm looking for (part-time, could be AI-related but won't sign restrictive contracts in that space). For a person/team that can be flexible on this kind of stuff definitely reach out, happy to talk! I'll consult for reasonable rates too if you want advice/second opinion/ideas/approaches for building AI products.
I have about 18 years of experience with emphasis on backend services, infra and technical management (CTO, Systems Architect, VPE, ...). Actively looking for a new role in some new project.

I'm a senior fullstack developer. The last 6 years I worked with C# /.Net in the backend, Angular/Typescript in the frontend, and Microsoft SQL and Analysis Services for database. Fluent in German and English. Quick learner, I love to "solve puzzles" and get to understand systems. Free time coding includes multiple participationsin the Global Game Jam, where I created video games in 48 hours with a team.
I'm currently in the market for backend, full-stack, and data engineering positions.
I'm a smart and passionate senior software engineer specializing in high-performance data systems and building systems that are reliable and maintainable.
At Scarf Systems, I co-led the migration from OLTP-based pre-aggregated analytics to OLAP-based real-time analytics, scaled backend services, and integrated customer-driven controls into Scarf's metadata enrichment pipeline while delivering sub-50ms event processing times. Also, I optimized analytical queries supporting dynamic filtering to achieve sub-second dashboard performance across billions of events, applying numerous database techniques within PostgreSQL and ClickHouse.
I'm particularly passionate about databases and using functional programming principles to solve complex engineering challenges. More specifically, I love learning about the algorithms and data structures used to power data-intensive applications.
Principal engineer with 12+ years of experience across full-stack development, infrastructure, data modeling, and internal tooling. I'm a generalist who moves fast, thrives on solving messy problems, and builds durable systems. I've led platform architecture, built log query engines for DFIR teams, modernized legacy B2B SaaS platforms, and automated ops-heavy workflows. Comfortable diving into whatever’s needed—backend, frontend, data pipelines, or platform glue.

Staff-level backend generalist, ~15YoE, most of that time in startups/scaleups. I'm value + product minded, ground engineering decisions in what's best for the business, enjoy talking to folks outside of engineering and learning about what they do, don't mind working with old/thorny/legacy stuff that I didn't write, have a nice bag of tricks from working in a variety of companies and watching a couple of them scale, also have the judgement to know when to use them. I'm who you hire if you need someone to get your 0-1 or 1-10 MVP to 1000 while still shipping, dig into your legacy system and make it useful/stable/performant without throwing it away and starting over, level up your team with thoughtful guidance/practices/tooling, and do the above without a lot of direction.
Looking for a senior/staff backend role. Especially interested in roles related to shipping/logistics, marketplaces (have extensive recent experience in these), health/fitness, green tech, personal finance, or similar things. I miss office culture/collaboration from before the pandemic, so I'm especially interested in roles that are at least partially in office (but would also consider remote companies with a culture that provides this).

Professional software engineer for ten years, hobbyist programmer for many more. Fully self-taught, always excited to learn more. Active and passionate open source software author and contributor. Seeking a fully remote position. Please review my extensive portfolio of open source projects and contributions.
Resume: https://bit.ly/3B3o65M (It links to my CV repo at Github, pinky promise. You can also visit github.com/<hnusername>.)
I'm not actively looking (hence why my resume link is obfuscated like that) but I'm at least interested in getting a feel for the market right now. That said, I'm willing to consider a position with a great fit for my skill set and career goals.
Here's my pitch: I have experience in a multitude of industries and positions. From improving legacy infra and processes in an established telco company to scaling a fast-moving startup from 200K to 2M users. In my free time, I love writing Code That Is Poetry but day-to-day I am not an idealist engineer who doesn't compromise. Well-engineered code is clean and correct but correct above all else.
Oh, also, I'm great at writing documentation. I consider myself introverted but apparently my communication skills are above average for Software Engineers. I also pride myself on my humility and modesty.
I'm currently a backend engineer developing features and improving infra for an online game with millions of daily active users. I'd love to explore other technical positions in the games industry short of joining a AAA studio because (a) I don't want to crunch and (b) my skill set does not lay that way; other tech-creative industries would also appeal to me! Another particular interest is in B2C businesses where the 'C' is software developers. I'd love to chat and network about opportunities; if you think you have a product that could benefit from my skill set, drop me a line!

Jack-of-all-trades with an emphasis on back-end services, infra, and project management. Presently bootstrapping projects from 0 -> 1 for my employer while passively seeking new opportunities. I build stuff out in a well-tested, local-first fashion via IaC and apply it cleanly to deployment environments. I place great emphasis on shipping obvious, maintainable code that's well-typed and fails loudly. I'd be a great fit for a Series B or later start-up that's found PMF and has to start building things durably in an opinionated way. Let me know what you're up to!

Hi,
I have over 20 years in the industry starting out as a Linux SysAdmin / Network Engineer and now doing more Systems / Low level Programming, R&D, and occasional DevOps.
Looking for opportunities involving low level / embedded systems / backend software development. Happy to also do automation / SysAdmin / DevOps as well. Although not my forte, I like to do robust automated testing / QA for software to ensure they meet (potentially undocumented) requirements.
I'm a CTO, expert engineer, and data professional interested in team-building, consulting and architecting data pipelines. At Edmunds.com, I worked on a fairly successful ad-tech product and my team bootstrapped a data pipeline using Spark, Databricks, and microservices built with Java, Python, and Scala.
At ATTN:, I re-built an ETL Kubernetes stack, including data loaders and extractors that handle >10,000 API payload extractions daily. I created SOPs for managing data interoperability with Facebook Marketing, Facebook Graph, Instagram Graph, Google DFP, Salesforce, etc.
More recently, I was the CTO and co-founder of a gaming startup. We raised over $6M and I was in charge of building out a team of over a dozen remote engineers and designers, with a breadth of experience ranging from Citibank, to Goldman Sachs, to Microsoft. I moved on, but retain significant equity and a board seat.
I am also a minority owner of a coffee shop in northern Spain. That I'm a top-tier developer goes without saying. I'm interested in flexing my consulting muscle and can help with best practices, architecture, and hiring.
Would love to connect even if it's just for networking!
I'm currently a physics postdoc at MIT doing research into applications of machine learning to problems in computational quantum field theory. My position ends in August/September and I'm looking for an industry job in Europe (I'm a German citizen). Ideally I'd like to keep applying my expertise in probabilistic modeling, Monte Carlo simulation, and numerical optimization to interesting engineering or data science problems. Experience includes distributed training and inference of generative ML models on large HPC clusters with ~20k GPUs, as well as developing scientific software for statistical inference. Proficiency in python programming (primarily with packages such as pytorch, scipy, scikit-learn) and some basic knowledge of other languages.

I'm a backend/platform engineer and developer advocate with over 10 years of experience across startups and scale-ups, including Uber and DoorDash.
At Uber, I’m a Developer Advocate for Cadence, the open-source workflow orchestration engine powering over 12 billion workflows per month. I work across teams to support adoption, resolve production issues, and scale distributed systems. At DoorDash, I was part of the Drive Merchant Services team, where I contributed to the migration from Django to Kotlin microservices by rewriting key customer support endpoints. I also designed and implemented a modular refund rules engine for our largest Drive partners, supporting flexible refund policies and internal operations tooling.
I'm looking for an engineering-focused role where I can return to hands-on systems work, ideally with a strong technical team and a path toward engineering leadership (EM or CTO). I'm particularly interested in infrastructure, developer platforms, and systems in healthcare, logistics, finance, or defense.
Outside of work, I enjoy sailing my 36’ boat around Puget Sound, riding my motorcycle, and diving deep into trivia across a range of interests. Let’s build something meaningful.
I am an engineer versed in building high throughput full stack and systems software. In my current position I am head of multiple projects related to real time fraud analysis. I am looking for roles mainly in Rust.
Hey, Muzani here, looking for a new adventure. Sweet spot is Seed to Series D. I've built startups from scratch. I'm working at a unicorn (YC S15) that's scaling rapidly across multiple countries. I'd like to help startups in between these stages and can bring more than just the engineering - sales, product.
Especially interested in AI product stuff. Not training/ML, but dealing with the non-deterministic outputs of LLMs.

I'm an ML engineer/research engineer looking for work in that vein. I can train models, I can design architectures, I can implement papers, I can gather real and synthetic data, and I can in general solve the problems that come up when trying to build ML systems. Background: I recently ended a 3 month contract at Redwood Research doing AI safety research where I spent about half my time improving our synthetic data pipelines and about half finetuning LLMs to exhibit unsafe behavior in deployment but not training, and to do so while defeating probes trained to detect the unsafe behavior (but only in deployment). I also have an ongoing solo research project working on text-to-image models trained without any text, relying on embeddings for conditioning. [1] is a (very out of date) blog post about that. There'll be a paper soon inshallah. Before the ML stuff I worked at a startup where we built a new cryptocurrency, and before that another startup.

I am a seasoned (>10 years experience) full-stack staff-level software engineer specializing in the backend, platform engineering, internal tools, and data engineering. In addition to strong programming and architectural skills, I'm a force multiplier for any team through the three T's -- teaching, talking, and tooling.
In the past, I've led teams of up to 12, managed interview pipelines, pioneered a number of no- and low-code solutions for all of the following -- stream processing, data model, query generation, form building, workflow systems, and front-end construction -- for a variety of industries, including those with strong regulatory requirements and complex business rules such as healthcare and fintech.
More recently, I've built a no-code form-filler and a workflow engine for coordinating LLMs and other generative AI processes, and on top of this a platform for both minimizing hallucinations and working with documents that are far too large for existing context window outputs using a novel, patent-pending process.
I am also an improvisational pianist and distinguished poet.
I have extensive experience working for and running both startups and software consulting shops, which gives me a unique insight into speaking with customers, translating between engineering and other organizational departments, gathering requirements, and aligning stake-holders across departments. If any of the above seems like a match for you and your organization or project, don't hesitate to reach out.
Based in Paris and about to finish my (industrial) PhD in neurosymbolic document understanding. Looking for a position such as Research Scientist/Engineer in AI in general, though most of my experience is in NLP and OCR. Have a bit of professional experience as I started my PhD a few years after having worked as a Data Scientist.
SEEKING WORK - Data scientist, remote worldwide, email in profile.
I'm a data scientist, I'm looking for hard problems to solve. Hair on fire "This is causing lemon-law recalls and we can't solve it."[1] type problems.
I love avant garde problems, and have a pretty unique toolset (LLMs+KB, OR+ML, etc). I've worked with names you know in automotive, tech, and other spaces. Recently I've been working with Oil & Gas - Production estimates, pricing, and things I'm not allowed to talk about.
I've worked on projects including LLMs, knowledge extraction, automotive part failure prediction, translation, maintenance optimization, automated sports highlights, and more. I've also done some more interesting work including vehicle route planning in constrained environments.
Get in touch. Even if you're unsure, get in touch. Referals welcome. Email in profile.

Hello! I am a software engineer with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, more than 10 years of experience and 10 professional certifications earned after a lot of study and hard work.
While I'm familiar with various technologies, my passion lies in programming with Rust. Whether it's backend development, blockchain, compilers, DevOps, embedded systems or mobile applications, I am totally onboard as long as there is a little bit of Rust involved.
I’m a software developer with a strong focus on automation, secure networking systems, and distributed infrastructure. I believe attitude outpaces raw ability, and I take pride in tackling new challenges head-on, ramping up quickly, and exceeding expectations on delivery.
After spending the first two years of my professional career in a large, legacy, telecom environment, I’m eager to join a driven team with a clear mission and the freedom to innovate without the weight of decades-old complexity.
Hi there! I'm Nitin, a software engineer with a passion for AI/ML, computer vision, and automotive software.
I’ve spent some time at Bosch developing real-time ADAS applications and optimizing perception pipelines, and I'm now deep into research at NC State—exploring information bottlenecks in deep learning and contributing to open-source projects like SGLang. I've also led projects in robotic navigation using Visual SLAM and ROS, fueling my interest in autonomous systems. Lately, I've been diving into AI agents and exploring innovative applications across different domains.
I'm eager to collaborate on challenging projects in robotics, intelligent systems, or any cutting-edge tech. If you're working on something exciting in these areas, let's connect!
I've been using Go as my primary language for the last seven years, although I don't overly care about the specific language and have experience with a wide variety of tools and languages such as Python, Ruby, PHP, C, JavaScript, Lua, and probably some more. While I've mainly focused on backend in the last few years, I also have written plenty of frontend code over the years, from the "pre-jQuery" days to VueJS.
In the last few years I mainly focused on GoatCounter (https://www.goatcounter.com) with the occasional contract job, but I'm keen to start working on something new for the longer term.
I've got quite a bit of code on my GitHub, so you can take a look at that if you want: https://github.com/arp242/

- Joined my current role as a founding engineer, focusing on backend development, but later took full ownership of the frontend as well.
- Built core infrastructure using Golang, TypeScript, and React — developing scalable backend services, user-facing features, and robust API integrations. Also designed and implemented dashboarding features for data visualization and managed cloud infrastructure
- Summa cum laude graduate of the University of Chicago
- Energetic, friendly, and resilient — able to build fast, iterate quickly, and thrive in dynamic environments.
Looking for a full-time software engineering role in full-stack development — open to leaning either backend or frontend based on team needs.

I am a software engineer with 6 years of professional experience, though I have been programming since I was a kid. I am a huge proponent of Open Source (see my Github[1]). I am looking to join a smaller company, either as a FTE or on a contracting basis.
For the last 10 years I have been working primarily for companies building tools for developers involved with large HTTP APIs (Apiary, Stoplight to name a few). Some of the open source tools you currently use when dealing with OpenAPI might have been written by me.
Currently I work as API Architect where I help design and ship big APIs, work in internal tools and help with the giant API Gateway that serves billions of requests per day and coordinates the various services for ${bit-company}
I can help in architecting very big systems, on the cloud or not, building tools for internal and external developer productivity and I am particularly good when thrown in codebases with a lot of technical debt and bring them back on a path to excellence.

I'm a multidisciplinary designer-developer with deep curiosity and a passion for building intuitive, human-centered products, particularly those leveraging generative AI.
My professional roles have typically involved much more than just coding, spanning product design, strategy, marketing, and customer support. I thrive in small, ambitious teams where I can make a tangible impact.
Outside of work, I've built successful side projects, including:
- Balance, a free web app that anonymously helps people with acute anxiety (https://balance.dvy.io/)
I've been in the industry for 7 years, primarily at Intel working on SSD validation. My primary focus in that time was Python work and some C for more performance-focused parts of our codebase.
Outside of my professional life, I spend a lot of time exploring various technologies around web and game development. Recently, this has centered around Next.JS and Godot.
While most of my experience is in internal tooling and testing, I'm open to anything that comes with interesting problems to solve. I'm a fast learner and mostly agnostic to the stack.
I'm a senior engineer with a wide breadth of experience in mostly web based full-stack engineering. Most of my experience is based in e-commerce but my last role was in edTech building content translations tools powered by AI.
Currently looking for a team that is dedicated to the work they do and wants to win. I'm agnostic to the tech stack and will always be up for learning what I need to.

I'm El, a senior product designer, UX/UI designer, and graphic designer with 7+ years of experience working remotely for US/EU/AU-based companies. I've worked for B2B and B2C companies and startups in various industries: energy, entertainment, education, and finance.
I'm a designer who codes and the creator of Uisual (https://uisual.com), a free library of Figma, Framer, and Tailwind CSS components and templates. Built with Vue + Tailwind CSS.
I’m looking for full-time or contract opportunities. I’m also open to project-based work at a fixed price.
Hi, I'm Andrew Trettel. I'm a scientist with a PhD in mechanical engineering looking for any potential opportunities outside of academia and research labs. I have over a decade of experience in scientific research, especially on the numerical side. I have years of experience in writing software for and running large simulations on high-performance computing (HPC) systems. I have also developed software for non-scientific purposes, like creating user interfaces for desktop applications. I have years of experience working with large datasets, including the tasks of calculating statistics and developing hypotheses/models/theories from data. I've worn many hats over the years and love learning new and interesting topics.
Hi, I'm Nate, and I want to break into the AI/ML space from the infrastructure/DevOps/platform side... MLOps, scientific computing, hybrid workloads, and anything weird, high-performance, or future-facing. Long term, I’m aiming toward deep tech R&D and possibly a PhD in CS, math, systems theory, or complexity science.
About every 4-5 years, I shed my skin. Lately I’ve been a DevOps/Platform/Infra engineer, migrating and modernizing production systems. Before that, I did full-stack and operations work. Before that, I built multi-leader database sync engines for iOS/macOS apps. I like growing and blossoming and wearing new hats.
I'm looking for a place that values elegance, curiosity, and serious play. Somewhere visionary where I can pour myself into expanding the boundaries of what’s possible over the next few years. I need meaningful work and friendly and adventurous teammates.
If you're building expressive, intelligent systems (or just doing something unusual at the intersection of infra and intelligence) I’d love to talk.
Q. Where do you see yourself in five years?
A. Ascending slowly into the sky from the parking lot of the Santa Fe Institute.
Hello! I'm Ricardo, a self-taught Full-stack Engineer with 10y+ of professional experience, and a strong emphasis on backend development. Additionally, I hold an MBA and have prior experience in administration and financial analysis.
For over a decade, I worked at the same company, designing, developing, and deploying a suite of enterprise applications serving 750+ active daily users. These systems have operated seamlessly and unattended for the past year, showcasing my commitment to building robust and reliable software.
Most recently, I contributed to a YC S24 startup, leading the development of several MVP features such as external service integrations, TOTP-based MFA, and user-facing workflows.
I'm passionate about solving complex problems and creating efficient, scalable solutions. I'm particularly drawn to projects that align with my ethical values, avoiding industries that harm the environment, compromise health, or raise ethical concerns. I aim to contribute positively to the world through my work.
I'm a Full Stack web developer coming off of 6+ years at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, where I took on roles including web app design and development, improving observability and automation in large scale data pipelines, team leadership, and developing services to configure and secure deployments to cloud infrastructure. I've worked with a large variety of technologies, and developed a robust set of skills in all layers of the web dev software stack.
I spent the last year building the entire stack for a hardware deeptech recent YC grad - backend, frontend, PCBs, firmware, infra, etc, as a one man dev team. I'm looking for somewhere with experienced hackers to learn from and somewhere I can wear a lot of hats. Prefer hardware (especially robotics - just built myself a robot arm to dive into it) but open to any hard + fun problems!

I am a software engineer with mastery of the full software development lifecycle, from build systems to observability. I was most recently at Amazon for seven years, where I focused on designing, implementing, and operating tools and services that had organization- and company-wide impact, with my last four years focused on developer productivity and services. One of the achievements I am proud of was scaling the automated build fleet used for builds in CI/CD pipelines for all of Amazon four times, up to over 5,000 worker hosts, handling hundreds of millions of build tasks weekly.
I'm looking for my next challenge, and am looking to relocate to New York City for a hybrid/on-site role. My experience is varied, from devops to platform engineering to developer tools and services. I'm looking to level up my development skills and collaborate with talented people on challenging problems.
I'm a full stack software engineer with expertise in JavaScript, Ruby, and TypeScript. Most recently, I've developed Unilogs, an auto-scaling end-to-end, log observability platform for distributed applications that deploys to AWS with a simple command.
Clojure/Script and JavaScript/TypeScript dev with 25 years of experience.
I've built high performance 2d game engines, 2 poker clients and quite a few MVC frameworks. I like functional techniques, react/redux, react hooks, clojurescript. Somewhat unusual is that I tend to enjoy and be good at the last slog of a development project, to get the application in front of users.
Location: Sweden
Remote: Preferred
Relocate: No, but prepared to commute to Stockholm
Technologies: JavaScript/ClojureScript, React/redux or hooks. Comfortable with all web tech.

Hi, I'm Cursed Silicon. I'm exceptionally passionate about technology and have worn many, many hats at different roles over the years. My primary passion is systems admin/operations. I enjoy building well architected servers and networks and helping users solve problems with technology.
On the side I am also a digital antiquarian and amateur "retro computing" hobbyist. I find the history of computers fascinating and enjoy tinkering with old machines and software in my spare time.
I am a software developer, mostly fullstack but I have delved into other areas of development. My latest role was in a fintech company here in Mexico where I was in charge of the implementation of AML/CFT policies in the company, I also was part of the support team where I attended tickets of our customers. I am passionate about machine learning and anything where statistics and programming mix up. Adaptability and continuous learning are my key strengths, honed through my university studies, which have equipped me to excel as an agile learner.
I would describe myself as a mid-level engineer with Infrastructure/Cloud and Backend experience. My current role isn't as technical as I'd like it to be so I'm looking around.
Need a consultant, strategic thinking, architecture or tech advice, coaching/ mentoring for you or your team?
How could we work together? An hour, a couple of hours or something more regular but flexible/fractional? I am looking for part hours, or retainers, or work toward fully moving into a consulting / advisory capacity
Let’s figure out how to work together.
—
I have 20+ years solving business problems and maximising opportunities through technology in a variety of industries internationally.
My core skills are in strategy, enterprise architecture, technology architecture, consulting and advice, agile, team leadership, coaching and mentoring. Can do operating model work.
I am currently a Principal Architect. I operate at both the enterprise strategy and solutions level with many years in architecture and technology in the private and public sector. I know how to use enterprise architecture frameworks, practices and principles from concept stage to delivery in order to execute on strategy and how to work with product and development teams to set direction and manage product evolution.
Technologies: technical writing, hardware testing, performance analysis, data visualization
If you need to know whether your product is competitive, need that assertion backed up by data, and need to clearly communicate about it in any medium, I can help. I've spent over 10 years testing and writing about PC hardware, both in media and as a technical marketer for ASUS and most recently Intel. I'm also an obsessive editor who can help any team produce clean, well-structured, highly readable copy.
At Intel, I was responsible for full-stack competitive analysis of Intel, AMD, and NVIDIA GPUs for desktop and mobile systems, from add-in boards and laptop hardware all the way up through drivers, supporting software, the quality/usefulness of functional units like hardware video encoders, and developer features like the XeSS and DLSS upscalers. I also helped build out a team for pre-release game testing to identify performance wins and to spot issues for our dev teams.
During my time at The Tech Report (RIP), I selected benchmarks and generated and analyzed performance data for the latest and greatest CPUs from Intel and AMD and GPUs from AMD and NVIDIA. Our testing methods were especially focused on quantifying a smooth and responsive gaming experience by using frame-time analysis. I also reviewed pretty much anything else that went into or around a PC, like motherboards, monitors, etc.
Outside of work, I'm an avid hobbyist photographer, videographer, and Twitch streamer, so I have well-developed eyes and ears for quality beyond the written word too.

Willing to relocate: Possibly
Technologies: Python, Ruby, C, C++, C#, JavaScript, TypeScript, PowerShell, Flask, SQL, PostGIS, Shapely, Unity, Unreal Engine, multiple assembly/machine languages, Windows user code and kernel drivers, Google Maps and other map APIs, geographic and airspace data
Hi, I'm Michael Geary. I've programmed in many languages and environments over the years. Some of my current interests are:
• Aviation and geographic data. For example, airspace and obstacle data importers for Wing; election results and voter information maps for Google; many interactive maps for other companies.
• Hardware interfacing. In a way, I am a "full stack" developer, but my stack may involve a front end to a piece of hardware rather than the cloud. I first got into programming via ham radio, so RF hardware remains an interest.
• Designing and building APIs. Too often an API is designed by exposing the internals of whatever system provides the API. My philosophy is the opposite: start with the apps. I like to build a series of sample apps before starting on the API. This way I can imagine what API will make those apps and others like them easy to build.
• Talk with users! I don't like to sit in a back room cranking out code. I want to make sure it's the right code for what my users need, and that it's easy to maintain and improve as we learn more about what they want.
Technologies: Typescript, React Native, React, AWS, Node.js. Some Swift/Kotlin/Java (would like to do more, especially Swift). Have written some Lua. I like writing automation scripts in Bash. Heavy user of lots of Terminal-based tools, such as Neovim, Tmux, etc (see my dotfiles: https://github.com/tomoakley/dotfiles)
I am a Lead Engineer at a small tech company in London called TotallyMoney, where I have been for the past 7 years, specialising in React Native (and some work on the web). During my time there the iOS/Android app has become the main focus for the company (however we maintain a web app too). I have been a large part of driving the app forward, both technically and in terms of the product. I have been a software engineer for 10 years and have a degree in Computer Science.
Some highlights of things I have worked on include new CI pipelines (automated testing, creating new app targets for manual testing and more), universal/app links, Swift and Java native modules, automated “real device” testing using AWS device farm and Maestro, spinning up our own CodePush server on AWS, and many features written in TypeScript. The app is not written with the Expo framework so I have had a lot of opportunities to understand React Native more - but open to working on an Expo app.
I want to remain focussing on React Native although I’d love the opportunity to write more Swift/Java, and also open to working on the web some of the time.
A hybrid approach to in-office/home works well for me (ideally 2 days in-office) but a full-remote job would be ok for the right role/company. Not open to relocation but some travel would be ok.

I am a full stack software engineer specializing in designing backends, database, and setting up cloud infrastructure. I am experienced in React for frontend engineering. I am also comfortable with AI engineering.
Most recently, I co-created Apiary. Its an open source LLM gateway which is self-managed in an AWS environment. It simplifies AI application development by giving the developers ability to proxy requests to multiple providers with a unified interface and providing semantic caching, guardrails and observability. Please checkout the case study at https://apiary-gateway.github.io
Previously, I have had experience designing software in a fast-paced start-up culture ie setting up application from scratch with very less directions and frequently changing requirements.
About me: I am passionate about what I do, and am quick to pick up new skills as the need arises. The technologies that I listed above are what I would consider to be my core skills, but they are not my only skills. In the past I've worked with Python, Perl, and Go as well to name a few. In a perfect world, maybe I'd get the chance to finally work with Elixir in a professional capacity!

Hello! I'm a Mechanical Engineer that pivoted towards the world of 3D when no opportunities opened up in my area. Everything I have created has been almost 100% built from the ground up, excluding the software and some QoL features found directly in the software utilized. Some in house tools have also been built from scratch to help improve workflow speeds. Recently, I've been deep into environment design and it has been a blast. I'm excited to offer my skills and learn more under full time or part time opportunities.
Open to full-time, part-time and contract jobs. Can carry projects from 0 to 1, high level of autonomy, have experience in UI/UX so can bootstrap a design for your project as well. Drop me a msg

Hello! I'm Samuel. I have been a full-stack developer for the last six-plus years. I enjoy learning new languages and being on the cutting edge. I am open to freelance and full time roles.
Hi, I'm Hunter, and I have ~15 years of experience leading engineering teams and orgs, working cross-functionally, and mentoring others. I've worked with teams from 1 person to 100s, from Seed to Series D. Currently prefer part-time & fractional engagements.
Hey! I'm Scott, a "designer who codes." Principal/staff level product designer & builder working remotely from Atlanta, GA, USA (previously San Francisco & Berkeley, CA).
I'm equally at home in a text editor or Figma file, a stakeholder meeting or collaborative workshop, and I love complex problems. If you're solving something interesting, let's have a chat!
I'm seeking employment or contract. Currently, I consult with engineering teams and dev shops, leading UX and product design for B2B and B2C SaaS products.
→ As a design generalist with 10+ years of experience, I get to wear several hats as we go from idea to launch. Here's a summary of the skills & benefits I bring to the table:
• Product design for SaaS products, focusing on user retention and product led-growth.
-- Exploring opportunities for AI integration is a passion of mine. I love building MVPs or enhancing existing products with features that users demand and stick around for.
• UX & UI design that inspires user adoption & retention. Great UI is based on UX systems thinking that prevents the problems that cause churn.
-- I utilize methodologies like Object Oriented UX, Jobs to be Done, and Design Build Use to unravel complexity and understand what really motivates users and helps them be awesome.
• Designing in the browser using markup & CSS. This workflow allows us to rapidly iterate prototypes for user testing.
-- Handing off clean, shippable frontend code (instead of just Figma files) streamlines the frontend development process. Pesky cross-platform visual bugs never have a chance.
→ If you've read this far, let's connect and see if we'd be a good fit!
Very competitive pricing available for fast turnaround PHP / JS or Node projects.
* Laravel or Legacy/Vanilla PHP
* LLM and RAG (Retrieval augmented generation) Integraton.
* Vector databases

If you have a crazy idea and want to see if it is viable then let me build out the MVP for you, if you are worried about budget then lets figure out together how to scope it to make it affordable to you.
Or perhaps you have a messy PHP codebase from 10 years ago, let me think about how to refactor it for you.

Available for remote work worldwide, very flexible across time zones. Looking for permanent or contract positions.
Hi! I’m Olga, an experienced software engineer looking for frontend or fullstack projects.
I have experience building greenfield projects and complex features that “just work,” as well as diving into complex legacy codebases, fixing “unfixable” bugs, and performing major refactoring.
In addition to React/Next.js and Node/Express.js development, I also have experience with cloud-native workflows (Golang + Kubernetes), OpenAI API integration and agentic workflows, native iOS development, and game development. Thanks to my multi-platform experience, I can help you port large products across different platforms.
14 years of experience in startup software development and DevOps across web apps, cloud, and Linux networking. Six years of leadership in teams of up to 7 people.
Looking for an engineering manager or senior IC position to mentor your team and make something people want.
Here are a sample of my accomplishments:
* Built a platform for hosting web apps using Kubernetes at a major cloud provider and taught engineers to operate and improve it. Introduced Terraform, Helm, and incident management processes.
* Led a B2B SaaS company through their first SOC 2 Type II audit.
* Published and maintained the community Apt package for Helm, the Kubernetes package manager, which is downloaded more than 200,000 times per month.
* Trained a team of developers in software patterns, communication, and prioritizing work, leading to a 72% increase in velocity in two months.
* Improved performance of a proprietary VPN by adopting Cython, permitting use of C functions in Python, resulting in a 2.5x increase in network throughput when limited by CPU.
Remote: Preferred (remote most of my career, comfortable with occasional travel)
Willing to relocate: Not ideally, but open for the right opportunity (would require relocation support and elevated comp)
Technologies: Python, AWS, GCP, Linux, Redis, SQL/NoSQL, event-driven systems, distributed architecture, domain-driven design, CI/CD, observability, data pipelines, cloud-native infrastructure, high-performance computing, AI/ML, and way more (check out my resume).
Principal Systems Architect and Engineer with 20+ years of experience leading architectural transformation across startups and enterprise. I specialize in building distributed, event-driven systems and frameworks that reduce complexity, accelerate teams, and scale cleanly.
Recent wins include:
Reduced code volume by 99% while adding new functionality
Cut processing time by 96% through pipeline re-architecture
Lowered infra spend by 30% via performance tuning and optimization
Slashed deploy times by 75% with build concurrency and IaC improvements
Halved migration effort by automating brittle legacy refactors
I'm a systems thinker and strategic enabler. I wear many hats: architect, engineer, mentor, advisor, and have reported directly to CTOs, CEOs, and Directors of Engineering. I've built reusable frameworks, abstracted chaos into clarity, and embedded architecture as a shared discipline. I help teams move fast without incurring a future they can't afford or scale.
I prefer high-leverage roles in infra, platform, data systems, or technical strategy. I have deep health tech experience, but I'm generally open to other industries (NO adtech, NO crypto, NO AI/ML nonsense)
Targeting $300K+ total comp. If you're burning >$1M/year on cloud infra, I'll likely be able to save you that, and then some. If you're offering less than 250K base, don't waste my time please.

Wait I thought these were the first monday of the month... f*k it I'll do it live:
Just finished up a deterministic simulation testing contract. Basically advanced, repeatable tests that explored the state space massively and generated a nice html report with real insights. Took existing code and put it through a custom testing program. It evaluated error rates, accuracy, runtime performance, and stats derived therefrom. Made it deterministic, so same seed = same result.

Three decades of experience in software development in the financial, telecom, power generation, gaming, consumer software, among others. Have architected, designed and built systems on all major platforms and DB systems. Have led large teams up to the executive level. More recently I've built multiple very successful AI projects, from high-level integrations to a full embedding/knowledge system.
I'm looking for advisory/consultancy situations that are challenging and interesting. Willing to bring a vast amount of knowledge, wisdom and experience to a role for a very competitive rate as it isn't my primary income.
I publish and write about open source and my experiences coding with LLMs here: https://manic.agency/blog. I'm currently building two open-source AI agent frameworks in TS and Python that can use memory / RAG with no additional API or LLM calls releasing in the next few months.

About
My core focus is solving real business problems QUICKLY and AFFORDABLY in a way that's easy to enhance and extend.
Find out more at www.rundata.co.za
I run a consulting company (atomweight.io), and have provided infosec, devops, and software engineering services to a variety of clients. I am open to both full-time and contract engagements.
I don't particularly enjoy coasting or clocking out at 5pm (mostly since I'm a night owl), so I'm looking for opportunities where I can move fast, build, ship fast, contribute the most value, and grow. If my skills and experience seem like a good fit for your needs, please reach out!

My preferred next career move is independent contracting. 6-12 months contracts ideally. I will also consider permanent fully remote positions, but only quite senior ones - Staff Engineer / Architect level.
I've been fully remote since 2018 and I intend to keep it that way.
Pretty wild how much talent is on here. Kinda makes me thinkdoes experience or just sticking it out matter more for building a career over time?
Core expertise in: - Building and scaling microservices architectures using Go - Kubernetes (CKA and CKAD certified) and cloud infrastructure - System design and architecture - DevOps and CI/CD pipeline development

I'm a former academic researcher (in linguistics) turned self-taught software engineer who'd like to transition into professional software development. I'm experienced across the stack using Javascript/TypeScript, Python, and SQL with platforms like Cloudflare and Val Town. I bring a research-driven approach from my Ph.D. in linguistics. I'm especially interested in working on AI tooling and integrations.

Most of my professional experience has been developing a local-first, remote-supported observability and control stack for solar+storage projects that work well on both grid/utility and microgrid scales (industry keywords: SCADA, EMSs, VPPs, V2G, modbus, dnp3, OPCUA).

I'm especially interested in non-profit work focusing on areas like technology recycling/refurbishing, climate change, or education, work in support of academic efforts, or anything else that is about creating things and improving people's lives more than it is cashing out.
Please no blockchain, AI-first/"vibe-coding", part-time, or contract work.
Thank you for looking!

Looking for a job as a full stack or backend developer, which is what I have the most skills in, but I'm open to both.
I'm a PHP developer with 1 year of experience and I'm currently expanding my knowledge and doing personal projects in the Laravel framework, which is where I'm focused right now.
I'm looking for a remote position as a contract, independent contractor, freelancer or something similar. I'm very hungry and willing to learn and expand my knowledge in PHP and especially in problem solving. I'm an excellent listener and team player.
I'm looking for small companies and startups anywhere in the world. I don't have any preference, but if I could choose, my first option would be the USA, but I'm also open to small companies and startups in Europe, for example.
If someone have any questions or require additional information, you can contact me using the email I've listed above.

All of that? At an expert level? Could you say what are the main advantages/drawbacks of Scala typesytem in comparison with OCaml and Haskell?
It's extremely messy and annoying to work with, to do the same thing you'd do by walking one step in Haskell you have to do five somersaults in Scala. It can't be fixed, and the Scala community thinks fixing it means hiding it behind fifty layers of fragile abstractions.

For the last 10 years I have been working primarily for companies building tools for developers involved with large HTTP APIs (Apiary, Stoplight to name a few). Some of the open source tools you currently use when dealing with OpenAPI might have been written by me.
Currently I work as API Architect where I help design and ship big APIs, work in internal tools and help with the giant API Gateway that serves billions of requests per day and coordinates the various services for ${bit-company}
I can help in architecting very big systems, on the cloud or not, building tools for internal and external developer productivity and I am particularly good when thrown in codebases with a lot of technical debt and bring them back on a path to excellence.
- AI Autotagger, an Eagle plugin currently processing over a million images and videos per month (https://community-en.eagle.cool/plugin/4B56113D-EB3E-4020-A8...)
- HN Alerts, a free notification service that sends emails when trending Hacker News stories appear (https://hnalerts.com/)

Email: mike@geary.com
I look forward to talking with you!
-Mike

Heavy user of lots of Terminal-based tools, such as Neovim, Tmux, etc (see my dotfiles: https://github.com/tomoakley/dotfiles)
Résumé/CV: https://www.linkedin.com/in/tomoakley Email: tom[dot]oakley[@]me.com
Thanks for reading!

Cheers!

Hi, my name is Mykel! I'm a full-stack engineer with several years of experience working within in the JS and Ruby ecosystems. I recently co-created Frame, an image-based semantic search platform built for developers (https://www.frame-platform.com). It abstracts away infrastructure for developers who want to embed images and perform similarity search quickly through an AWS deployment. I worked across the stack on this project, from initial prototyping and design to final implementation and documentation.
For my next role, I'm looking for a fast-paced environment where I can grow as an engineer. I love picking up new technologies and have a proven track record of learning quickly. I'd prefer a remote role, but I am open to relocating anywhere in the U.S.

* Created a system to control calls in Asterisk with AI-trained voice commands ("hey asterisk, dial extension 1") https://github.com/mattfox/asterisk-voice-control
