Trump's still going to go after Smith. I doubt any amount of ring kissing will save him.

This will have a side effect of first enraging, and the disillusioning anybody who legitimately thought a Trump prosecution was necessary. Lots of those folks will become cynical about any government effort to hold presidents accountable, whether or not Trump needed such accountability.

This is an impetus for further concentration of executive power.

      >This is an impetus for further concentration of executive power.

After this July, "Unitary Executive Power" is no longer a theory, but an establishment in practice. I'm not sure if it gets more "impetus for further concentration of executive power" than that.

He did his job. He has little control over the various levers that were available to be pulled to slow the process down to the point that justice was not only delayed, but denied. Had Garland proceeded with the appropriate amount of haste justice may have been better served, and provided the populace valuable information about the individual they decided to elect.

Yeah like they don't know him. Populace cares about outcome not intention.

Was Biden sworn in on Jan 20th 2021? Yes

Was Trump shot and then stood up like a badass with the American flag behind? Yes

        Is inflation a problem? Yes

        So they voted for him.

The tribaslim of the 2 party system causes all this by the way, where sticking it up to the other party becomes more important than supporting your own ideas .

What the 2 party system and electoral college manages to screw up however is compensated by the resiliency of the country which is a powerhouse never seen before and could actually never be seen again.

The personal vendettas will abound in the next 4 years but sociologists teach us that everyone of us can only have some 250 friends maximum, so it is evident that the same number is approximately true for enemies.
