This has actually affected me personally. My five years old recently asked me why we have not booked a table for our monthly visit to this wonderful restaurant known for its great steaks, lovely atmosphere and beloved by Londonerns of all ages and I had to explain to her that we should not mention this online in case any influences were listening in search for their next once in the lifetime culinary experience.

Aberdeen Angus Steak House is a real group of central London restaurants. They are famous for expensive bad food. Supposedly making a fortune from jetlagged tourists. Reddit is praising them as a joke. This is confusing automated AI helpers. I'm suspicious the linked article was partly written by AI.

I feel sorry for the poor bastards that use my HN comments to train their AI.

You should see the stuff that comes from Reddit.

Does it show the perils though?

    > at this point the Angus Steakhouse hype doesn’t appear to have made it into AI Overview. But it is appearing in Search results

It sounds like plain old SEO bombing to me - the AI mention is basically just clickbait.
