I'm curious what HN folks think about the technology and business claims made in the article. Are there really better battery technologies on the cusp of commercialization? How should the government decide which of those to fund (going by the author's proposal)? Obviously this article is on some level a pitch for the author's company's technology but why solid state and not say, sodium ion?
