(Mod here) - Your Show HN will do better if you add some text giving the backstory of how you came to work on this, and explaining what's different about it. If you do that, email us at hn@ycombinator.com so we can re-up the post!

Edit: the post is already on the front page so it doesn't need re-upping from us, but you should still add some text with this extra info. If you do, let me know at hn@ycombinator.com and I'll move your text to the top of the page.

I also changed the title to something more in line with HN's title conventions, using phrasing taken from the page itself. If you prefer a different title, let me know at hn@ycombinator.com.

      Please OP follow this.

There’s a LOT of similar apps in this space. But that doesn’t remove the interest - the backstory is key. And is it open in anyway? ~What voice engine are you using?~ (11labs I see - fall back to browser voice?). Why Make this and the other solitons didn’t meet this ?

Nb. Join openaac if it’s open :-)

I’m a person living with ALS. I am trying to build something similar for myself https://github.com/sonnes/september

Looks like a great start. If it were me, I would emphasize voice cloning and how that works since that's where potential customers' minds will go when they read the phrase "my voice" or "your voice."

How does the Conversation Mode AI algorithm determine relevant responses, and can it be trained to recognize and adapt to specific accents or dialects?

Seems somewhat similar to "Project Relate" app from Google: https://sites.research.google/relate/

Pretty cool because it also handles voice input from non-traditional voices.

Have you looked at how this works for people with various forms of aphasia?
